Rahman Rocks

Rahman Rocks

  Royalty rules. So does Rahman.

The maestro impresses again and again with inspiring consistency. And 2008 is simply glorious.
While the effervescence, eccentricity and elegance of Ghajini, Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na and Yuvvraaj leaves listeners floored and fans beaming with pride, Rahman’s piece de resistance of the year is decidedly the soundtrack of Jodhaa Akbar.

Through five compositions and two theme pieces, he creates grandeur, romance, history and emotions even more exciting than Ashutosh Gowarikar’s lengthy labour of love.As the combo Mani Rathnam and Rahman always sounds fantastic in tamil , Gowarikar and Rahman rock together in Hindi.

Its all director’s talent to extract…..

The power of Rahman’s boundless imagination, brilliant detailing and exhilarating rendition coupled with Kashif’s touching reverence comes alive in trance-transporting divinity of Khwaja mere khwaja. Flawless.

Also the Jashn-e-Bahara was soul rendering.

The music looks apt for that era but also entertaining for this era.Thats all about Rahman.

Jaane Tu… had all the rocky and spunky music needed to keep the flow of the movie alive. There’s huge difference between sound and music. Some new brand of music directors to create rocky music assume making crazy sounds and shouting (in the name of singing) with Atif makes a chartbuster.

As Illayaraja rightly said there are two options, home made food and popcorn in form of music. Its upto you to choose the right. Its a different story why popcorn sells more.

Nazrein Milana,Jaane Tu,Kabhi Kabhi and finally Pappu cant dance went on to to become superhits.Even the Election commission got the song Pappu cant dance to campaign for the election.

Yuvraaj…had the music with western flavor.Zindagi by Srinivasan was superb.Tu Muskura,Tu meri Dost hain were all picks of the wonderful album.

Ghajini was the last to be released in 2008 out of the lot.It was not very much appreciated by all.As always Rahman music is a slow poison.Guzarish by Sonu is superb.Aye Bacchu is also a good peppy song.Behka and Kaise Mujhe are lovable.

Sakarakatti in Tamil had some recompositions from Meenaxi but Taxi Taxi song became the anthem…

Jai Ho in Slumdog Millionaires had fetch him lots of international fame.

Rahman Rocks…….It was wonderful year for him as well as his fans.

When I was in US, it was a regular job to watch telugu, tamil,Hindi and english movies. But after coming back to chennai did not get much an oppurtunity.I read a lot about this movie”A wednesday” rated high when compared to rest of movies and wanted to watch it.

Now this sort of movies without any hero, heroine or song has become common not only in Hindi but also in some south indian languages. The story is said to be a hero and in this case that is 100% true.

This movie will touch you if you are angry about the terrorism and blasts happening in India and could not do much.Naseruddin shah represents the common man and brings out the anger of a common man naturally. The depiction of most of the characters were awesome.

The peak of direction was when director ended the movie without disclosing Naseruddin shah character’s religion. The message was common man is angry with blasts and terrorism, never mind to which religion he belongs.

I loved this movie a lot and especially Naseruddin shahs conversation with Anupam Kher.

Its a must watch movie…………………
